The five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo displayed his ripped physique by posing for a photo alongside his son outside a cryogenic chamber on Monday.
The Portuguese footballer, 37, and his 11-year-old son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, stood together outside a cryo chamber as they got ready to plunge their bodies into freezing temperatures for the treatment which can help ease muscle pain.
The room is said to be set to temperatures as low as -200 degrees celsius; the therapy can help heal and rehabilitate tissues. Sharing the photo on Instagram, the Manchester United footballer captioned, "Recovery time with my boy," along with an ice block emoji.
Both wore underwear from Ronaldo's CR7 men's and boy's range. Ronaldo Jr also wore a pair of black gloves and shoes before heading into the chamber to help protect his extremities against the freezing temperature. Several well-known personalities claimed cryotherapy, also known as cold therapy, can help weight loss and slow down the physical effects of aging. Man Utd's legendary striker also previously shared a cryotherapy session he underwent while in Dubai.
Ronaldo's eldest son was born in San Diego, California, in 2010, when he confirmed he would be taking care of him under his exclusive guardianship while his mother decided to keep her identity confidential. The United forward is also dad to twins Eva and Mateo, four, who he had via unknown surrogates in the United States. While Ronaldo and his long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez also share a daughter Alana, three, plus their newborn daughter, who they named Bella Esmeralda.
The 28-year-old footballer's girlfriend announced the name they had picked together with three lovely photos of the little girl sleeping, appearing to crack a smile while wearing a pink top and a white Moschino number and a knitted hat. She wrote in her caption, "Bella Esmeralda [green heart] 180422."
In October, the couple revealed they were expecting twins, with Rodriguez giving birth to a boy and a girl in April. However, the legendary footballer shared on April 18 the passing of their son at birth. During the pair's tragic loss, they tried to keep fans updated on social media, expressing gratitude towards people's "kind words and gestures."
