American actor Miles Teller has cleared the air surrounding his vaccination status, revealing that he had been inoculated for some time now following his COVID-19 bout earlier this year. It came after his appearance in Taylor Swift's newest music video sparked a backlash from fans.
"Hey guys, I don’t usually feel the need to address rumors here but I am vaccinated and have been for a while. The only thing I’m anti is hate," the "Whiplash" actor told both fans and critics on Twitter.
The 34-year-old starred with Swift in her newest content offering on YouTube, "I Bet You Think About Me," which was directed by Blake Lively. To date, the MV is approaching 11 million views after it premiered on Nov. 15 following the release of her album "Red (Taylor’s Version)."
While many fans were focused on Swift's lyrical masterpiece and how she haunts her ex-lover's wedding in the music video, some Swifties can't help but point out that at one point, Teller was diagnosed with COVID-19 while he was casting doubt of getting the jab.
"Why are so many people happy that Miles Teller is in the music video when he is a selfish jerk that isn't vaccinated?" one fan said.
Another would note, "Why would Taylor use Miles Teller? Isn't that dude a big anti-vaxxer who caused a movie set to be shut down because he refused to get vaccinated and then got f***ing COVID?"
Rumors of Miles being an anti-vax emerged in September during the filming of "The Offer" series, which is about the making of "The Godfather." Reports suggest that the production was halted after someone tested positive for COVID, claiming it was Miles, as confirmed by a source on the set.
“Miles Teller is not vaccinated. He wouldn’t even get the test,” the insider claimed as per Page Six. “Now he’s brought the virus to the set and the whole set had to shut down.”
However, "The Spectacular Now" star's camp would junk the reports but stopped short at revealing details of who caught the virus.
Earlier this year, Teller and his wife Keleigh holidayed in Hawaii with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is unvaccinated, and his fiancée Shailene Woodley in May, according to TMZ. However, Rodgers would clarify he is neither an anti-vax nor a flat-earther.
“I believe strongly in bodily autonomy and the ability to make choices for your body, not to have to acquiesce to some sort of woke culture or crazed individuals who say you have to do something," he said.
