When it comes to churning unsubstantial gossip about a celeb’s life, it is almost always about their love life- they are either eloping, facing troubles, or heading for a break-up. Same is the case with singer Taylor Swift and her boyfriend for the past three years, actor Joe Alwyn, who (as dicey sources claim) are planning to run away and tie the knot in private.
Swift is known for keeping her relationship with Joe Alwyn under tight wraps and isn’t too keen on divulging details or sharing their private life with the media. Thus, using the fact that this makes fans only more eager to know more about what is going on, a magazine, Star, provided its own insight on the scene, with shaky sources backing its nonsensical story.
The magazine printed a story this week claiming that the couple has eloped, adding information from unnamed “sources” that they are getting married secretly.
“Neither of them wants to wait to have a formal ceremony,” shared one the dubious sources. “Taylor and Joe are in this together, and this is what they want. They’re very excited.” The story is accompanied by a photo of Alwyn and Swift in black tie dress, holding hands, which has been captioned: “low-key vows!”
While it is true that Swift and Alwyn will get married sometime in the future, what labels a story more bogus than a picture that is presented as a supposed elopement moment caught on camera while it was actually snapped at the BAFTAs last year?
This is not the first nor the last time that tabloids make false claims about their relationship. Like in December 2019, it was Star magazine only who tried to spread the rumor that Swift and Alwyn are not in a good place in their relationship, a story once again corroborated by false sources.
But, time and again, Taylor Swift has shared that she is very happy with Alwyn, even if she is not flaunting it to the public eye. “I’ve learned that if I do, people think it’s up for discussion, and our relationship isn’t up for discussion,” Swift explained in an interview last year. “That’s where the boundary is.”
