The Copa América Centenario games have been fun and dandy until one soccer fan took things way too personal and even got in a heated argument with a cop.
Following the recent soccer match between Chile and Mexico, where the South American soccer team defeated El Tri with a humiliating score of 7-0, Mexican soccer fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts via bittersweet memes and comments.
One fan, however, expressed his anger at the Levi's Stadium in California following the quarterfinals match and was even arrested after starting a brawl with a cop.
In a viral video posted by Sports Reporter Aldo Farias, two soccer fans wearing the Mexico team jersey are seen screaming at the cop. In the midst of the couple yelling "f*ck you!" and "this is my freedom," the cop pushed the young lady to handle the situation with the man. The man immediately attacked the cop causing mayhem at the stadium. A group of cops then tackled the man and his friends and put them in handcuffs. It was unclear why the argument began in the first place.
"That's the most dumbest things he could have done, fight with U.S. cops," said one Facebook used in Farias' video. "He thought that the cops are like the ones in Mexico, where you tell them things and nothing happens." Another user stated the following: "Then they ask why they don't want Mexicans anywhere. They go to other countries and want to cause mayhem like they do in Mexico, but they forget that laws are respected in other countries."
The Mexico vs. Chile game was the last game of the quarterfinals round of the Copa América Centenario. The 7-0 defeat was one of the worst in the Mexican National Team's history, however, it is also considered one of the biggest in the tournament.
Colombia, USA, Argentina and Chile have moved forward to the semifinal round. Argentina and the USA team will clash on Tuesday, June 21 at the NGR Stadium, Houston, at 9:00 p.m. ET and Chile will face Colombia at the Soldier Field, Chicago on Wednesday, June 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
