Argentinian actor Michel Brown, who became famous for portraying Franco Reyes in the telenovela 'Pasión de Gavilanes' and has enjoyed success in Mexico, Colombia, and the United States, as well as other international markets. Last year he returned to work in Buenos Aires after 23 years since his last role in his homeland.

His comeback is not just professional—it's an emotional journey filled with nostalgia and rediscovery. In an intimate, unfiltered conversation with The Latin Times, the actor shares how El hilo rojo transformed into an experience that transcended the screen.

Reunion with the Authentic

"We've talked many times about returning to Argentina, but this... this is something unique," Michel says with a smile. "It hit me like the perfect hybrid: a Mexican film being shot in my country, Buenos Aires, after 23 years. It was like returning to the streets I used to walk to school, feeling again those emotions I thought were lost."

He recalls in detail the contrast between the everyday life of someone who has lived in Mexico and the visceral force he felt returning to the city where he was born. This return forced him, in his own words, to "neutralize his accent" and reconnect with a self that had been on hold.

Discussing the intense creative process, Michel reveals:

"It was a journey for me in every sense: a journey, the film, and a personal voyage. I worked with a great team of Argentine filmmakers, and the experience of walking through those neighborhoods, those memories, stirred me to my very core."

For co-star Carolina Miranda, it was "exciting and beautiful seeing Michel going through the rediscovery process of his hometown." At the same time, she kept teasing him that it was cheating "because he was vulnerable due to this reconnection. His heart was cracked open, and it shows in the work".

Between Passion and Vulnerability

The film, which explores the legend of the red thread of destiny, confronts him with deeply intimate scenes. "The scene where, alongside Carolina, I found myself completely naked, exposed in front of 35 people walking by without stopping... was the first time in my life that I said to myself, 'What an odd profession I have!'" he confesses with a laugh. The boldness and vulnerability required by the project have led him to explore both professional and personal territories, marking a notable departure from his usual television persona.

When asked whether 'El hilo rojo' is the most sensual film he has ever made, Michel responds with sincere modesty:

"I think so. I don't aim to pigeonhole myself into a character or a stereotype. Although many remember me for my role in 'Pasión de Gavilanes,' in this project I don't feel limited. The neutrality I maintain in my characters becomes a challenge for me, and that's precisely what makes it so special."

His reflection is intertwined with the passion that the film evokes in every scene, where tension, desire, and intimacy merge into a narrative that transcends the conventional.

Michel Brown continues to pursue his career. "I just wrapped up a film that they're still working on the title for, which I can't say yet because it's for another platform, and I have two series coming out on VIX, which I hope will also be released this year."

The same day that 'El hilo rojo' was released, another of his movies also came out, 'Contigo en el futuro,' on Prime Video. The Argentinian actor is celebrating: "So yeah, with five projects. Really happy, honestly. Everything came together. Five completely different projects in terms of genre and characters. So I am very, very happy.".
