For those who were able to watch the 10 episodes of “Cobra Kai” season 5, there is no doubt that it was one of the most magnificently compiled sequences for the series to date.
And for those who were able to watch the “Cobra Kai” season 5 finale, there is no question that a potential season 6, once officially renewed, will have John Kreese (Martin Kove) taking on the lead villain role.
There is also the question of how the Cobra Kai dojo will be restored. After the fall of Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) and most of the students turning their back after learning of the pony-tailed sensei’s devious plans, the only plausible scenario is for Kreese to return and try to rebuild the dojo.
Seeing however that he escaped from prison, way before he could have been cleared following the admission of Stingray/ Raymond Porter (Paul Walter Hauser), Kreese could be in for some rough sailing for breaking out of prison.
There is also the case of Kenny Payne (Dallas Dupree). From being a bullied teenager who transformed into one of the top fighters of the Cobra Kai dojo, he still seems lost. He clearly showed this when Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) tried to approach him after Silver’s arrest.
Finally, there is also Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto). After a long while, he finally admitted that he had true feelings for Kumiko, a character that he tormented in the “Karate Kid” Part II played by Tamlyn Tomita.
Chozen left a message via text before that hellish ride that led to the climactic finish of “Cobra Kai” season 5.
Showrunners Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg sat down with Perri Nemiroff of Collider, stating that they still have some tricks up their sleeve.
“We have a few more tricks up our sleeve for where we go from here, but it does get bigger every year. And we're trying at all times to make sure we're not plagiarizing ourselves at this point,” Heald said.
Hence, a bigger challenge awaits. But the question is when will “Cobra Ka” officially be renewed for an imminent sixth season?
