The Liga MX Apertura playoffs are less than two weeks away and as the eight remaining teams make their final preparations before the start of the opening round, fans of one of the most competitive leagues in the game of soccer are once again anticipating an action packed postseason showcase. The top seed in the field is Club America, who earned a 2013 Liga MX Clausura title with a victory over Cruz Azul back in May. Winning the team's 11th championship, interim manager Alvaro Galindo and Las Aguilas will certainly be viewed as the favorites to win the title when they open the playoffs against No. 8 Tigres.

No. 2 Santos Laguna - who won the 2012 Clausura title - will battle No. 7 Queretaro FC while No. 3 Leon takes on No. 6 Morelia and No. 4 Cruz Azul battles No. 5 Toluca. 2012 Apertura champion Club Tijuana will not make an appearance in the eight-team field after finishing 10th in the league following a 5-0 loss to Club Leon. Set to begin on November 23, the Liga MX playoffs will surely be another great opportunity for each team to showcase their respective skills while competing for a championship and although the postseason will gobble up a large chunk of the Mexican soccer headlines, recent transfer talk has also become a hot topic of discussion since many high-profile players are involved.

According to Univision, multiple Chivas Guadalajara players including Mexican international standout Marco Fabian and Chivas vice-captain Luis Michel are being linked to possible moves during the transfer period. In addition to those big name players, the website also notes that forward Miguel Sabah, midfielder Miguel Ponce and defender Nestor Vidrio are also expected to depart since it is not believed they are high up in the club's future plans. Fabian is certainly the most interesting case since he's had opportunities to depart Guadalajara, but ultimately decided to remain with the Liga MX affiliate.

Fabian has been linked with possible moves to Europe in the past and now that the 24-year-old's name is expanding on an international level, many expect the El Tri star to eventually depart. A member of the Mexican international team at the 2012 Summer Games, 2013 Gold Cup and 2014 World Cup qualifying slate, Fabian remains one of the most popular players in Mexico but as he continues to grow on the pitch, the market continues to grow for those interested in his services.

Past teams said to have been intrigued by the possibility of signing Fabian include Manchester United with Benfica and Stoke City most recently interested.
