Cameron Diaz is most probably living the best years of her life thanks to her new gig as an author and her married life. The Hollywood star visited Ellen Degeneres on "The Ellen Show" Thursday, where she opened up about her new book, aging and her marriage. She even revealed her husband's nickname on the show.
Diaz, who is making the rounds with her second published word "The Longevity Book," said writing about things that she's passionate about, like the science of the body, is very gratifying. "I love to learn and I like to share that information so that everyone can have a long, strong, and happy life," she told Ellen about her new book and her debut work "The Body Book." "The Longevity Book," which made it to No. 2 on New York Times Best Seller List, talks about the beauty of aging. "When we're happy, we live longer. When we accept that we're aging, we live longer," stated Cameron. "As we get older, we realize that we have so much things to offer," she added.
According to the actress of Cuban descent, the five pillars of well being include: good nutrition, physical activity, good rest, stress release and loving, meaningful relationships.
In fact, she reveals that she's happier than ever now that she's a married woman to Good Charlotte frontman Benji Madden.
"Someone asked me, 'What's your favorite thing about being married?' and I said, 'I just learned so much about myself. I didn't know these things. I would have never known them if I didn't have my husband to help me," she said to Ellen. "And they said, 'What's the worst thing about being married?' It's like, 'Well I learned all these things about myself that I wish I didn't know. And I wouldn't have learned them if I didn't get married.' So it's a double-edged sword."
The couple met at a BBQ hosted by her friend Nicole Richie and husband/Benji's brother, Joel Madden. After eight months of dating, they got engaged and tied the knot January 2015 in a private ceremony. "I'm just so grateful for it because I couldn't do it without my husband, and I couldn't do it with anybody else," Diaz said on the show, revealing some of the nicknames she has for her other half. "I call him a lot of names," she said. "You know how things start 'baby' then to 'bae' then it goes to 'buh'? Soon I'm just going to go 'uh' and he's going to know I'm talking to him."
