A 55-year-old bodybuilder from Brazil who defied the odds by injecting oil for bigger muscles passed away on his 55th birthday.
Valdir Segato had been using fatal injections of Synthol for users, aware of the risk that was tied to it. This includes strokes and infections. Regardless, he pushed through with it to get bigger biceps, pectorals and back muscles.
Segato said in the past that he was inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger and fictional characters like the Hulk.
“They call me Hulk, Schwarzenegger and He-Man all the time and I like that. I’ve doubled my biceps but I still want to be bigger,” Segato said back in 2016 via the Daily Mail.
The native of Sao Paulo had already been warned several years ago that he could face amputation or possible nerve damage and muscle disfigurement due to the injections if he continued to do so.
Regardless, Segato pushed through with it and saw his biceps grow bigger by as much as 23 inches. This led to him being called “the monster” on the streets, something that made him proud.
He showed off his unique physique on social media and called himself the “Valdir Synthol.” He has over 1.7 million followers on TikTok and lived a quiet life alone with select friends and visitors.
In a report by Globo News, it was also added that Segato had rented a property that was built behind the family’s house. On the day of his death, the 55-year-old was already complaining about shortness of breath.
“It was around 6 a.m., more or less. He came crawling through the back house and came to the front. Then he knocked on my mother’s window, knocked, knocked, then she woke up and he said ‘Help me, help me because I’m dying,’” Moisés da Conceição da Silva said to the outlet.
