According to a thread from M5 Post, BMW Technical Service has justed issued an urgent technical service bulletin requesting for all its dealers to seize delivery and cancel parts orders for all 2013 BMW M5, M6, and M6 Convertible models due to a critical problem with the oil pump.
Specifically, the defective oil pump may experience an unexpected loss of oil pressure, which will cause major damages to the engine. BMW has also spread word of its concerns to new BMW M5 and M6 customers, advising the owners to refrain from operating their vehicles until the car has received a thorough inspection by a dealer.
