New York City is the place to be this summer! Contrary to popular belief, the Big Apple has a lot to offer during this particular season. Such is the case of Bryant Park’s Summer Outdoor Performing Arts Series, which this year has decided to showcase different Latino dance genres, such as tango, salsa, bachata and more.
This season’s fabulous dance party includes eight Wednesday evening events (May 4 through June 22), hosted and produced by Talia Castro-Pozo, and features a superb band and expert dance instruction for extraordinary dancing experiences beginning at 6 p.m.
“Dance Party attracts such a wide range of New Yorkers: 20-year-olds who have never been to a dancing event before and experts who have been dancing their entire lives,” says Castro-Pozo. “Every Wednesday evening in Bryant Park, there are young people, professionals, babies, older people, tourists – all dancing and mingling. Dance Party is such a great way to meet new people and to experience the incredible range of culture in this vibrant city.”
Time Out New York has given the experience a thumbs-up, praising its “notable instructors” and “amazing live music.”
Ethan Lercher, executive producer of Bryant Park Presents, said, “Talia Castro-Pozo is an incredible force of nature, who inspires thousands of people to dance. A dancer and a true spokesperson for dancing - especially salsa - she is full of energy and ideas.”
He continued, “She creates festive and inviting social experiences with us in beautiful Bryant Park. People can learn Foxtrot one moment and then have food and drinks on the lawn, all while listening to an incredible band in the heart of Midtown.”
There you have it folks! If you are in the New York area this summer, make sure to stop by Bryant Park and meet new people while learning how to impress your loved ones and friends with sassy new moves.
