It seems as it was only yesterday when Alfonso Herrera was sporting a bleached blonde hair and stealing the hearts of Latin American teenagers in Televisa’s telenovelas “Clase 406” and “Rebelde.” Fast forward a decade and Poncho, as his fans refer to him, is busier than ever and crossing borders with shows such as “Sense 8” and “The Exorcist.”
But according to his Instagram page, the 32-year-old Mexican actor has one more reason to celebrate…he is going to be a dad! “Immensely Happy!” Herrera wrote on social media next to a photo of an adorable baby onesie that reads, “Daddy loves me.”
Neither the actor nor his girlfriend of over a year, Diana Vázquez, have made any public declarations on the subject but as they say in Mexico, “una imagen vale más que mil palabras.”
In the meantime, fans and followers from all over the world have been congratulating the actor and asking him to share more details about the baby and the pregnancy: “Are you having a baby?” “Is it a boy or a girl?” “Congratulations, it’s the purest and most sincere love a human can have, that of a son. Blessings to you and your partner.”
The little bundle of joy couldn’t come at a better time. Poncho is achieving recognition as an actor not only all over Latin America and other foreign countries where telenovelas are available to stream online, but also in the U.S. where he continues to be considered for bigger roles thanks to his participation on the Netflix original series.
In addition, the soon-to-be baby daddy is hosting a new show on The National Geographic Channel titled “La Ciencia de lo Absurdo,” which premiered on April 18 and will be available in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and Venezuela.
