Adriana Esteves gave life to one of the most iconic villains in telenovelas in the last years. Carmina from "Avenida Brasil" captivated not just its home country, but countries like U.S., México and Argentina. The 45-year-old actress had been absent from the small screen since the finale of the soap at the end of 2012. Her co-stars like Murilo Benicio, Débora Falabella, Isis Valverde, Cauã Reymond had made their comeback. From the main roles, it was Esteves who was the last one to return. "Babilônia" is the telenovela that will mark Adriana's return to television in a Gilberto Braga original. Braga has numerous classics like "Vale Todo," "Loco Amor," "Dancin' Days" and "Lado a Lado," which was awarded as Best Telenovela at the 2013 International Emmy Awards.
In this new melodrama, Esteves will give life to Inês. "I never had the life I dreamt of," she says in the first teaser. "Nor the husband, nor the job or the social position I always wanted. Life hasn't given me what I deserve, but I will have everything that I deserve and use force if I have to. That is my ambition." Chilling, isn't it? We don't know if this character will be as psychotic as Carmina, but we are sure Esteves will give another great performance. Adriana will be joined by Gloria Pires and Camila Pitanga in the leading roles. "Babilônia" is set to premiere on Monday, March 16 at 9pm on the Globo network in Brazil, taking over "Imperio's" timeslot. Watch the promo down below and tell us what you think!
