Producer Rosy Ocampo has confirmed the name of her new comedic telenovela, "Antes Muerta Que Lichita," which roughly translates to "Rather Be Dead Than Lichita." We are all still wondering what Lichita means, maybe it's the nickname of one of the main characters? The title sounds kind of funny, but we are thankful it doesn't include "amor," "corazón," "pasión" or any other word that always seem to make it to Mexican novela titles. "#AMQLichita is an original story that will premiere during the second semester of this year," Ocampo wrote on Twitter. This new production will premiere after "Amores Con Trampa" finalizes in México and will follow suit in the U.S. on Univision.
"Antes Muerta Que Lichita" was originally titled "Más Canija Que Ninguna" and will follow the same type of comedic storyline like "Mi Corazón Es Tuyo," "Por Ella Soy Eva," "Una Familia Con Suerte," "Que Pobres Tan Ricos" and the likes. The Ocampo production has not confirmed who the lead actress will be, but many names have come up. Original Zuria Vega and Altair Jarabo were candidates to take on the leading role, but both are now part of the "Que Te Perdone Dios...Yo No" cast. Ariadne Diaz is now the front-runner to take on the spotlight and will share the small screen with Eduardo Santamarina, Sylvia Pasquel and Chantal Andere, who have been confirmed. We are looking forward to this production and can't wait until more news is revealed. What do you think of the title?
