A 9-month-old baby girl in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh was allegedly sexually assaulted by the victim’s neighbor. The unnamed perpetrator who resides in the Khurja Dehat area reportedly brought the baby to his house on the pretext of playing with her.
According to Times Now News, police were informed about the incident and rushed to the home where they found the baby lying in a pool of blood. The child was immediately rushed to a local hospital by members of her family and was reported to be in critical condition.
Based on police reports, the man who allegedly raped the child is now on the run. Authorities have detained three relatives of the accused for questioning as they track down the suspect.
Circle officer Suresh Kumar said a police probe is underway pending the apprehension of the suspect.
In a similar incident also in Uttar Pradesh, an 18-month old girl was allegedly raped by a man who lured the child saying he would buy her toffees. The toddler was taken to a secluded spot where the suspect had his way with the girl and raped her.
According to the victim’s family, the suspect had left the victim outside of her home and fled the area. Police were called to the home where a crowd had already gathered, and the suspect was eventually identified and later arrested.
Authorities have registered a case against the man based on the complaints of the victim’s family. A request to fast track the case in court has also been filed.
Superintendent of Police P Sushil Chandrabhan Ghule confirmed the child has been taken to hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile in a separate case, police in Gopalganj are still tracking down the five suspects who allegedly gang-raped a 16-year-old girl and released the video of her rape on social media. The suspects allegedly had been blackmailing the victim for over two years, threatening to release the video if she failed to meet with them so they could carry out whatever ill intentions they had in mind. When she refused to meet him a couple of weeks ago, the video went viral and the suspects had reportedly fled abroad.
To date, the victims' families are in fear for their lives as they continue to receive death threats for raising the case.
