The rumor mill has been churning out some juicy gossip about the "50 Shades of Grey" movie cast. Women have been waiting eagerly to find out who will bring E.L. James sexy young character Christian Grey to life. Now fans are dying to know if "Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder will take on the role of the young, rich, entrepreneur Christian Grey.

Author E.L. James may have inadvertently started the rumors buzzing when she tweeted she loved the "smell" of Christian Grey. Fans automatically assumed she has cast the main man in the film adaptation of her famous book.

James' Twitter followers bombarded her with requests begging to know who is playing Christian Grey. One follower asked James if this had anything to do with the fact that Ian Somerhalder was in London.

It is said that the "50 Shades of Grey" movie will be filming in London. Coincidentally Ian Somerhalder just tweeted he was in London on June 2. He also let fans know he was working a new movie script, but did not tell them what it was.

Fans of the "50 Shades" series are taking that as a sign their Christian Grey has been cast. Now what about Grey's love interest Anastasia Steele. According to a poll conducted by the Daily Mail, fans of the book trilogy would like to see "Gilmore Girls" star Alexis Bledel alongside Ian Somerhalder.

Fans of the "50 Shades of Grey" series were hoping that screenwriters will not tone down the hardcore sex and bondage scenes depicted in the books and it looks like they will get their wish. Perez Hilton spoke with Kelly Marcel the head screen writer for the project. Marcel said she was hoping for an NC-17 rating.

"There is going to be a lot of sex in the film," Marcel told Hilton. "It will be NC-17. It's going to be raunchy. We are 100 percent going there. We did go through and decide which [scenes] are our favorites and which are not. Most of them are in there, but I can't say more than that."

The "50 Shades of Grey" movie has an IMDB page, but there is no information about the cast or a release date. Fans have posted fake movie trailers on YouTube using clips with actors they would like to see as Grey and Steele.
