‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Watch Elena Become Augustine Vampire In Episode 10 ‘Fifty Shades Of Grayson’ [VIDEO]

Elena Gilbert really can't catch a break, despite attempting to start fresh at college, Elena's supernatural trouble from Mystic Falls has followed her all the way to Whitmore College. Elena was recently captured by Dr. Wes in episode 9 "The Cell," and as if things couldn't get any worse for the vampire in the mid-season finale viewers will watch as Elena becomes the latest Augustine vampire.

Everyone's favorite vampire from Mystic Falls attempted to become friends with a mysterious man on campus, Aaron. However, viewers soon realized that being close to Aaron only led to trouble, it now seems as if history is repeating itself. Dr. Wes Maxfield was revealed as Aaron's legal guardian, and while the loner was able to break into the creepy basement in an attempt to help the vampires, it didn't work. The plan only led to more trouble for the Elena and Damon, Elena ended up strapped down to an operating table, and her boyfriend was left with a bullet in his head, which is really just more of an inconvenience than anything.

Elena isn't the only being held by Dr. Wes, Damon's old cell block neighbor is still within the evil doctor's clutches, Enzo is still there. In episode 9 "The Cell" we learned that Enzo and Damon were tortured together side by side every day for years, the only solace they found was with each other. However, after hatching an escape plan, Damon failed to rescue Enzo. Heartbroken, the elder Salvatore brother turned off his humanity and fled, abandoning his friend.

"Fifty Shades of Grayson," which is set to air on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. EST, is also the midseason finale. So fans are excepting big things from episode 10, and by the looks of the most recent sneak peek video, it delivers. The truly scary preview begins with the eerie sound of Dr. Wes's voice and a clearly startled Elena, despite her obvious fright, the "good" doctor continues with his experiment, documenting each step along the way. "Subject 83182 appears conscious," Dr. Wes states for his recorder in the sneak peek video. Realizing the seriousness of the danger she is in, Elena attempts to gaze through the blinding lights, and take in her surroundings.

Obviously panicking Elena stammers, "Where am I?" The annoyingly collective Dr. Wes teases the terrified vampire, questioning, "Why? Look familiar?" While the viewers are in the dark with Elena on what exactly Dr. Wes's plan, it seems like this is certainly far from your average vampire checkup. Elena notices a machine next to her and attempts to remove her restraints, with little avail, Elena questions again, "What is that thing?" "What are you doing to me?" But seeing as Dr. Wes can't be bothered he continues his step by step procedure and announces that the patient is prepped for dialysis. Putting what appears to be an anesthetic gas mask over her, he begins to count down from 10. The sneak peek clip cuts out before viewers can see what exactly is in store for Elena, but be sure to tune in on Thursday at 8 pm to watch "50 Shades of Grayson!"
