4-Year-Old Girl Tortured, Murdered And Abandoned By Mother, Her Live-In Partner For Opposing Their Relationship

A four-year-old girl was tortured and beaten to death by her mother and her paramour for opposing their relationship.

The child, identified as Mehak was found dead on the footpath near Dwarakapuri Colony in Hyderabad, a city in the Indian state of Telangana on Nov. 4, morning, police said.

An autopsy revealed that the little one had suffered internal injuries.

The police began investigating the death and on Saturday, Nov. 13, solved the murder mystery with the help of CCTV cameras installed in the area.

According to the police, Mehak’s mother, 22-year-old Heena Begum, and her paramour 25-year-old Shaik Mohammed Khadar alias Rizwan, both alms seekers, used to frequently torture the little girl for refusing to seek alms.

The child was also against her mother’s illicit relationship, police said.

“On Nov. 3, while they were in Bengaluru (a city in the state of Karnataka), the duo thrashed the deceased severely by giving fist blows on her abdomen and kicked her. Due to this assault, the child became unconscious,” Joint Commissioner of Police (West Zone) A.R. Srinivas said on Saturday.

After the child became unresponsive, the duo got scared and decided to return to Hyderabad. They boarded a private bus and during their journey, they realized that the girl’s body had gone cold and concluded that she died.

“To escape getting caught and to erase the evidence, they left the body near NIMS (Nizam's Institute Of Medical Sciences) so that it is assumed that some poor patient has left it,” Srinivas said.

“Accordingly, they left it on the footpath in front of Dwarakapuri Colony, and fled,” he said.

Begum was married to one Ahmed, a property offender, who is currently serving a jail term for robbery. The couple had three children, including Mehak.

Begum met Khadar at a toddy compound. The duo began talking and Begum shared her problems with Khadar, who “proposed to her and promised to take care of her children”.

The duo began living together and was eking their livelihood by begging.

“They were also making the children beg,” the officer said.

He said Mehak was not happy with her mother being close to Khadar and was insisting her to go back to her father.

The child also refused to seek alms with them for which she was subjected to severe physical torture, the officer added.

The suspects were identified with the help of CCTV footage. They were traced to Rajasthan, from where they were arrested and brought to Hyderabad.
