An 11-year-old was reportedly raped by two boys over in Nagaur district of Rajasthan on Monday night. All know one another and details remain scarce.
According to authorities, the girl was called outside of her house after which the two boys took her to a nearby place where they committed the crime.
An FIR was already registered in connection with the case on Wednesday. The two suspects are already in police custody.
One of the suspects was 16-years-old with his identity withheld. The other was identified as 21-year-old Bharat Soni. The identity of the victim was also not divulged to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault.
This comes not long after another 11-year-old was raped and killed in Badi Hokra village of Ajmer district’s Pushkar town of Rajasthan.
Per reports, the girl went out to graze goats on Monday at around 10:00 a.m. However, her parents got worried when she did not return home later in the evening.
A search was initiated to find the girl and her body was found with injury marks near a bush in the hills near the Baijnath Mahadev temple. Her body was brought to the Pushkar General Hospital for autopsy.
According to police, the attacker likely mutilated the minor with heavy stones and an ax before raping her. The main suspect has yet to be found. An FIR was already filed by her father but on an unknown person.
Local authorities are now hunting down the suspect with hopes of nabbing the attacker soon. Some suspects have reportedly been taken into custody for questioning with regards to the matter.
The MLA is pinning the blame on the Congress government. The crime rate in the state continues to get out of hand as the administration and the Gehlot government have apparently failed to take control of the situation.
