Zac Efron has come out and addressed his followers after reports surfaced that the actor spent time in rehab battling "cocaine addiction." In January of this year, Efron suffered a collapse from a heroin overdose while at a party in his room at New York's Thompson Hotel. The incident was so bad that friends had to resucitate him after popping oxycodone, Adderall and weed. This was a wakeup call for the "High School Musical" star and he checked himself into rehab. As the report surfaced, Zac was away in Peru on a spiritual journey and has now addressed his fans for the messages of support. "Hey guys! Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and wanted to thank you all for your support these past few weeks...means the world to me. Love you guys! - Z," the 25-year old actor wrote on Instagram.
In the photo that Efron shared with his followers, we can see the heartthrob crouching in front of the majestic Machu Picchu in South America. The "Hairspray" star is seen with a bandana, a denim shirt, shorts his sneakers and a backpack flashing a big smile showing the world that he is all right. This photo shows that Zac is on the right path after reportedly being enrolled in two rehab programs this year to clean himself up after allegedly being addicted to cocaine for more than two years.
The road to complete recover is going to be long and difficult, but gladly Zac has been feeling the support of his followers and we hope he is successful. Mr. Efron has been continuing to work in movies and he has two films on deck. "Parkland" is set for release on October 4 in the U.S. and it is a film that recounts the chaotic events that occurred following John F. Kennedy's assassination. The piece was directed by Peter Landesmen and it also stars Tom Welling, Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, Jaci Weaver, Marcia Gay Harden, Ron Livingston and many more. If you like Zac in comedy, "Neighbors" is scheduled for release for May 9, 2014, about a couple with a newborn baby that face a clash with their college frat men when they establish their fraternity house next door. The movie also stars Seth Rogen, Dave Franco, Rose Bryne and Lisa Kudrow. Check out both movie trailers down below and tell us which one are you looking forward to watching.
