A 24-year-old Indian man reportedly ended his life after his favorite superstar’s latest movie failed to impress a large section of the audience.
The young man, identified as Muthala Ravi Teja allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling fan at his home in Tilak Nagar, Kurnool, a village in the state of Andhra Pradesh, according to local media reports.
Teja, a welder by profession, was a die-hard fan of actor Prabhas, a superstar in the Telugu Film Industry.
As usual, Teja did not miss the premiere screening of his favorite actor's latest movie.
However, Prabhas’ much-awaited release "Radhe Shyam" disappointed the ardent fan as it failed to live up to his expectations, reports said.

After the screening, Teja went home upset and expressed his dismay to his mother and a friend. Hours later, he was found hanging dead inside his room, according to reports.
Teja was also deeply disturbed by the negative reviews that had been surfacing online, a Twitter user wrote.
"#Prabhas Fan Commits Suicide. Fans are deeply disappointed with a negative talk for #RadheShyam. The suicide of Prabhas’s fan has shocked everyone. Ravi Teja is a big fan of Prabhas. He was very upset with the mixed result. He committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan," the user tweeted in Telugu.
The cryptic tweets from the film’s director, Radha Krishna Kumar evidently indicated that he too is upset with the negative reviews.
"Thank u all for the tremendous response. We made the movie with love and your pouring your love back?? It’s not the reviews, it’s the result which matters."
"You go to a vegetarian hotel expecting them to serve chicken biriyani? We have always told this is a love story, but critics are bashing us saying there is no action in the movie. That makes any sense?".
It is unclear if the police have recovered a suicide note from the scene. The tragic death is being investigated.
Last year, another ardent fan of the 'Rebel Star' Prabhas wrote a suicide note to the makers of Radhe Shyam after they temporarily shut down the film's shoot due to the pandemic.
"Not even in my dreams I saw myself writing a suicide note as I have not written a single letter so far. At least I think Radhe shyam team will give an update even after seeing my death. it's enough, no more asking," read the note that had surfaced on Twitter.
