Celebrate the World Cup on the Fourth of July! Reuters

It may be difficult to swallow, but the U.S. Men's Soccer Team is officially knocked out of the World Cup. For some fans, the 4th of July weekend that's just around the corner is just salt on the wound. However, there is still plenty of soccer left, and just because the U.S. is out, it should not stop diehard soccer fans from hosting an awesome World Cup 4th of July party!

The 4th of July, formally known as Independence Day, traditionally celebrates the freedom and liberties that our country fought for so many centuries ago. However, in this modern era of overworked and underpaid citizens, the 4th of July long weekend is all about taking a day off, spending time with loved ones, and having a good time. Not only will there be two games on the 4th of July, but both games boast some formidable soccer teams that have a really good chance of winning the World Cup championship. France Vs. Germany is on Friday, July 4, at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Next, Brazil Vs. Colombia will kick off at 4 p.m. ET. Here are 10 tips on how to host the best World Cup themed 4th of July party in town:

1.) Ready the living room: A traditional 4th of July party is all about the outdoor BBQ. On the contrary, a World Cup 4th of July party is all about the big TV! Be sure that there is ample space for all your friends to gather around and enjoy the games. As an optional extra, dress up the den with a soccer theme by hanging national flags and your collection of soccer jerseys.

2.) Ready the refreshments: You can't go wrong with your favorite cold beer, but a sweet mixed drink will add a lot more style to your party. Get into the Brazilian spirit with a nice Caipirinha. Simply add a sprinkle of sugar and lime to Cachaça, Brazil's sugarcane rum, to make this simple and savory drink. Don't forget to shout "Saude!" before you take a sip! 3.) Ready the Food: There's nothing wrong with hotdogs, hamburgers, and potato salad for the 4th of July, but a little ethnic flair will make your party a lot more memorable. A hearty Brazilian meal features a tasty dish featuring fried rice balls, fried beef, and pork and beans. The rice is seasoned with onions and parsley. In Rio de Janeiro, the rice balls also feature a kick of sardines and parmesan cheese. Fried rice balls also make great finger food when watching the game. Nachos and pretzels are classic game time snacks, but Brazil is known for their fresh fruit. Serve mangle and papaya sprinkled with powdered sugar as snacks during the game. Fried bananas make a delicious sweet too.
