Woman Kills Lover For Refusing To Marry Her, Stuffs His Body In Trolley Bag To Dump At Railway Station

A woman has been accused of killing her lover for refusing to marry her and then stuffing his body inside a trolley bag to dispose of the remains at a railway station in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India on Monday, Aug. 8.

The woman, identified as Preeti Sharma, reportedly left her husband Deepak Yadav four years ago due to domestic issues and began living with the victim Mohammad Firoz, 22, who worked at a salon in Delhi.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, the couple reportedly had an altercation regarding their relationship. Sharma had asked Firoz to marry her. However, he refused on the pretext that his parents would not allow him to marry someone from a different community. When the woman began to pressure Firoz to propose to her, he called her "characterless." Enraged, Sharma lost her cool, slashed the man's throat with a razor, and killed him, the Times Of India reported.

Following this, Sharma hid Firoz's body in a room in their flat until Sunday. She then went shopping in Seelampur, Delhi to buy a large trolley bag. After purchasing the bag, she tied up Firoz’s remains and stuffed them into the bag that was a little over three feet in length. Lugging the trolley bag, she subsequently left her home in Tulsi Niketan with the intention of heading to Ghaziabad railway station about 15 kilometers away.

At around 2 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, she stepped out of her flat with the bag. However, she was spotted by policemen who were conducting their routine rounds. The officers found the woman with the large trolley bag suspicious and asked her to open the luggage, NDTV reported.

Following a search by a woman constable, the officers opened the bag and found a man's body. After being taken into custody for questioning, Sharma revealed that the remains belonged to her live-in partner Firoz and that she was on her way to dump the bag at Ghaziabad railway station.

The officers have arrested Sharma and have recovered the razor allegedly used by the accused in the killing.
