Woman Kills Herself After Argument With Husband Over Unflushed Toilet

A woman reportedly killed herself after having a heated argument with her husband over an unflushed toilet in their washroom in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, India on Tuesday, March 22.

The woman, identified as D Shruthi, 28, was reportedly left upset after her husband, D Naveen, a private employee, refused to acknowledge her complaints about their unflushed toilet. Naveen, who reportedly felt offended by the conversation, subsequently escalated the heated argument with Shruthi and dismissed her grievances.

After confronting her husband, the woman reportedly locked herself in the storeroom on the first floor of their residence and took her own life by hanging a noose from the room's ceiling fan, Telangana Today reported.

Following the woman's death, the Kukatpally police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. The couple, along with their two children, lived at New Balaji Nagar in Kukatpally in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a woman allegedly killed herself after becoming upset over a blouse that her tailor husband had stitched for her in the Amberpet area, Hyderabad, India in December 2021, India Today reported.

The deceased, Vijayalakshmi, reportedly lived with her husband, Srinivasa, and their two kids at Golnaka Thirumala Nagar area in Hyderabad. She was found dead in her bedroom after she had an argument with her spouse over a blouse he had crafted for her.

Srinivasa, a tailor by profession, made his livelihood by selling sari and blouse materials door to door, as well as stitching them at his house. After Srinivasa made a blouse for his wife, Vijayalakshmi reportedly was not impressed by his work and asked him to redo the blouse. Srinivasa, who felt offended by her response to his work, allegedly opened the clothe's stitching and told Vijayalakshmi to stitch it herself.

Upset over her husband's response, Vijayalakshmi reportedly locked herself in her room until the next day. When her children returned from school, they found the bedroom door still closed and knocked repeatedly to call their mother.

However, when they were unable to get any response from her even after repeated knocking, the husband was informed of the situation. The man subsequently rushed back home, opened the door forcibly, and found the woman hanging inside the room.
