A live report on the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles revealed firefighters are struggling with water shortages just moments after a news anchor dismissed claims of such issues.

The Los Angeles area has been engulfed by severe wildfires, with dry conditions, insufficient brush clearance, and high winds fueling the flames.

Criticism has mounted against city leadership, including former mayoral candidate Rick Caruso's claim that water reservoirs were not adequately maintained to support firefighting efforts.

Fox 11 anchor Melvin Robert denied that firefighters were experiencing water shortages, Mediate reported.

But this is basic stuff, this isn't high science here. And it's all about leadership and management that we're seeing a failure of. And all of these residents are paying the ultimate price for that," Robert said. "Despite what you have heard from Caruso, no firefighters have told us that they are running out of water."

An immediate cut to on-scene reporter Gigi Graciette in Pacific Palisades contradicted Robert's claims moments after he made them.

Graciette confirmed that firefighters on the frontlines were struggling due to broken water mains or pipes, forcing them to rely on swimming pool water to battle the flames and prevent further destruction.

"Well, firefighters have told me they have no water on this block. And you may be able to make out the ember storm that we're in the middle of right now. This house is going to be a total loss. They have no water to put on this fire," Graciette said. "Firefighters here telling me they have no water. Why? They don't know. They've heard that there may be broken mains. They may be broken pipes. They don't know, but what they've been doing to save the house next to it is actually putting-, pulling water from the swimming pool."

The revelation of water shortages has sparked renewed scrutiny of city management and emergency preparedness, with residents and critics demanding accountability.

Firefighters continue to work tirelessly to contain the blazes using any available resources, as officials investigate the infrastructure issues causing the disruptions.
