It was probably the world's most famous temper tantrum. Jim Mongiat secretly filmed his wife Whitney throwing a fit over a planned trip to the lake that the husband cancelled because he needed to do some house chores.
Jim uploaded the video to YouTube and wrote in the caption that his wife freaked out after he told her they couldn't spend Saturday on the lake, as his truck needed to be fixed.
"I had worked 60 hours that week and told her all week that Saturday was my day to get stuff done around the house. But as usual she threw a fit about it," he said.
"That was the last day I lived in our house. I have moved out and filed a restraining order against her," Gawker reports he wrote in the video that has now been removed for violating the website's anti-bullying policy, although copies remain online.
Right This Minute caught up with the couple, who married in May 2012, to find out what really happened on that day that led Whitney Mongiat a 30-year-old nurse, to act the way she did.
She told the website that they had planned on going to the lake, but then got into a fight over an unrelated issue. It was then that her husband said that they would not go at all, causing the wife to throw the temper tantrum. She claimed that her husband was bullying her.
However, Jim stands by his claim that Whitney is like this all the time, and he just wanted to capture it on camera to prove it to the rest of the world. He said he has no regrets about posting the video, and that his friends have been supportive of his decision to do so.
The two are getting a divorce, but Whitney says she will be the one filing the papers.
