Why Prince William Was Dubbed As The ‘Terror’ One While Harry The ‘Quiet’ One

Prince William and Prince Harry have very different personalities. Growing up, several articles have been written about the Duke of Sussex’s naughty streak.

As the spare, Prince Harry was rumored to be the naughtier one. But when he was younger, he was actually quieter than his older brother. In the book "Diana: Her True Story,” royal biographer Andrew Morton spoke with Princess Diana’s brother, Charles, Earl Spencer, about his nephews.

According to Charles, Prince William was actually the one who had a negative reputation when he and Prince Harry were much younger. The press would always write him up as the terror child of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Prince William was also dubbed as an attention-demanding troublemaker.

“In fact, William is a very self-possessed, intelligent, and mature boy, and quite shy. He is quite formal and stiff, sounding older than his years when he answers the phone,” Charles said.

As they got older, the differences between Prince William and Prince Harry’s personalities just grew bigger. Royal author Angela Levin described the Duke of Sussex as the more emotional sibling because he wears his heart on his sleeve.

“Although his mother, the late Princess Diana, did her best to make sure he didn’t miss out, it was hard to compete with an older brother destined to be King one day,” she said. “Harry adored his mother and marveled at how much ‘fun’ she was,” Levin added.

According to David Wiseman, Prince Harry also has a wicked sense of humor. In the documentary “The Story Of The Royals,” he said that the Duke of Sussex loves making jokes and also loves to laugh.

However, Prince Harry also knows that there are only a few situations where he can reveal his hilarious side, and it’s usually when he’s with his other soldier friends. “He understands he comes from a position of privilege, and he’s not ashamed of that,” he said. “He understands it’s his duty to use that to have a positive impact,” he added.

According to royal expert Robert Jobson, Prince William is more reserved and doesn’t normally let his hair down in public. This is mainly because of his future role as the head of the monarchy.
