Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, have a lot of dissimilarities, both physically and emotionally. A further difference some fans have noted is their educational attainment. While Prince William attended a university, Prince Harry did not.
Of course money is no object for Harry and William, and they could have attended any university they wanted. This intrigued a royal family fan who posted the question on Quora for other users to answer.
For Marian Clarke, the younger prince is just not academically inclined, but there’s nothing wrong with that. “Three or four years ago I had a long conversation with somebody in the RAF who had been involved in his training; he said he’s not stupid at all, and passed all his exams and did everything that he needed to do, but that he couldn’t imagine him ever wanting to study something just for the sake of it,” Clarke wrote. “That’s fine, as far as I’m concerned.”
Going to the army instead of a university is probably a good thing for Prince Harry, according to Quora user Gillian Schifreen. “He made the right decision to go in the Army. Up until that point he had behaved like a bit of an idiot,” Schifreen replied. “The Army sorted that out. University would only have encouraged it.”
Meanwhile, Kel Clark believes it’s because of their different personalities. “At school Will played footy, Harry rugby,” wrote Clark. “Wills went to university, Harry fought in Afghanistan. Wills married a english rose, Harry a mixed race American actress.”
Prince Harry candidly answered that question back in 2011. “I don't know, I'm one of those people, that during my flying course especially, I would be fine at flying,” the Duke of Sussex said. “I probably should have done a lot more reading, but I was fine at flying.”
He even admitted that exams are particularly dreadful for him. “Exams were always a nightmare, but anything like kicking a ball around or playing PlayStation — or flying — I do generally find a little bit easier than walking, sometimes,” Prince Harry revealed.
But he is particularly proud of his good hand–eye coordination, which is particularly useful when flying a helicopter or beating the guys at computer games. “It's a joy for me because I'm one of those people who love playing PlayStation and Xbox, so with my thumbs I like to think that I'm probably quite useful,” Harry jokingly said. “You can ask the guys, I thrash them at Fifa the whole time.”
Not excelling in academics does not necessarily mean that Harry is less intelligent than his older brother, William. It is now accepted by scientists that there are multiple intelligences. Unfortunately, however, the current educational system is only designed to measure verbal-linguistic and logical-mathematical aptitudes of students. Other types of intelligence include visual-spatial, musical, naturalistic, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal and intrapersonal.
