Prince Charles once made a shocking comment about Princess Diana before they tied the knot. He uttered these comments while the future king was talking to his group of friends.

In the documentary “Charles And Di: The Truth Behind Their Wedding,” the narrator claimed that Prince Charles once described the Princess of Wales as exquisitely pretty and as a perfect poppy. However, the heir to the throne also thought that the late royal was a child.

“She does not look old enough to be out of school, much less married,” Prince Charles said. Royal author Ingrid Seward revealed that during that time, Prince Charles’ friends already felt that his and Princess Diana’s relationship could be an absolute disaster. After all, the late royal was like a high school student and Prince Charles was like her professor.

Prince Charles’ friend Penny Ramsey raised her doubts about his and Princess Diana’s relationship. And the future king reportedly told his pals that he was in a confused and anxious state of mind because he didn’t want to make a promise that he would regret later on in life.

“Prince Charles kept saying, ‘I want to do the right thing by my country,” Junor said. “I want to do the right thing by my family.’ In his heart, he knew that they just had nothing in common,” Junor added.

One month before Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding, the dad of two confided in his friends and told them that he didn’t love his future wife, but he was sure that he could eventually love her.

Despite the future king’s doubts, he still decided to marry Princess Diana. One week before their nuptials, Princess Diana discovered a package with Camilla’s name on it on Prince Charles’ desk.

Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom found a gold bracelet with the letters “G” and “F” engraved on it. The initials were used by Prince Charles and Camilla to refer to their pet names, Fred and Gladys.

Prince Charles’ former private secretary, Michael Colborne, said that Princess Diana was already very suspicious of Camilla. But after she saw the bracelet, she broke down in tears.
