Kate Middleton and Prince William have been married for eight years now and have three kids. Prior to their marriage, they each have dated other people. Prince William dated several women, but out of those he had a relationship with, it was Jecca Craig whom Kate reportedly doesn’t want the prince to reconnect with ever again. This woman was one of William’s exes whom he had a big crush on, making the duchess quite affected.
As per E! News, Jecca and Prince William spent a lot of time on her family’s home in Kenya. The two were even said to have played “pretend engagement,” though their relationship didn’t really blossom to the point of marrying. In fact, Jecca got engaged to another man, Hugh Crossley, but later called off the wedding.
The reason for the canceled nuptials didn’t involve Prince William, though. Her father, Ian Craig, revealed that his daughter scrapped the wedding because her fiance didn’t have the same goal as hers, which is to return to Africa.
“Jecca decided she just wanted to finish her degree,” Telegraph quoted Ian as saying in 2009. “There was absolutely no one else involved. It happened just over a month ago. It’s very amicable.”
Prince William and Jecca remained close friends, and it was said that he comforted her after the heartbreak. Later, when it was the prince’s turn to tie the knot, Jecca received an invitation for William’s wedding to Kate in 2011, which she attended. However, the Duchess of Cambridge still seems to be jealous of her husband’s ex love as it was alleged that she once stopped him from going to Africa for fear that he will see Jecca there.
Jecca is an environmental activist who founded two Kenyan charities, Panthera and Stop Ivory, which both aim to protect the wildlife. Prince William was said to be planning to fly to Kenya to support her charity works, but Kate said “no.” Reports claim that the duchess has the right to be worried, and thus the decision was valid.
“Jessica is hosting a charity marathon across the family wildlife estate and William wanted to be there,” the tipster told Daily Star via Express. “You can imagine how Kate felt. Kate is seriously worried and so should be as Jessica is a knock-out.”
Kate’s jealousy is said to go way back to the time before she and Prince William entered the university. In her book titled “William And Harry,” royal biographer Katie Nicholl wrote that the prince invited Kate to his 21st birthday party in 2003, but William spent most of his time with Jecca.
The two were seated right next to each other, while the duchess was on a table far from where the prince was having fun with his rumored “love.” Kate was said to have been snubbed as William had his eyes glued only on Jecca, and she was really hurt.
It wasn’t revealed whether Prince William proceeded to Jecca’s charity event, but this was said to have caused tension in their relationship. However, although rumors like this have surfaced, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appear to be happy together these days.
