Why Prince William Suddenly Split From Olivia Hunt To Date Kate Middleton

Prince William had a sudden change of heart about his former girlfriend Olivia Hunt while studying at the University of St. Andrews. The couple was together during the Duke of Cambridge’s first year at the institution.

But while the dad of three was still with Hunt, he reportedly saw Kate Middleton at a fashion show and became drawn to her. The Duchess of Cambridge walked on the runway wearing only a see-through dress, and the Duke of Cambridge couldn’t take his eyes off of her.

Shortly after the fashion show, Prince William courted Kate, and they became a couple in 2003. Even though the future king somehow dumped his ex-girlfriend for his wife, it seems that Hunt didn’t hold any grudges.

At present, Hunt is still good friends with Prince William and Kate. In fact, Hunt is also friends with Prince William’s younger brother, Prince Harry. She attended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal wedding last year. Hunt was also present at Pippa Middleton’s wedding in 2016.

Meanwhile, Hunt is not the only woman who Prince William dated before Kate. The second in line to the throne was also in a relationship with Jecca Craig. The two reportedly met in 2000 while Prince William was in Kenya for his gap year.

Craig grew up mainly in Kenya, and she also attended a small Kenyan boarding school. There were rumors suggesting that Prince William’s feelings for Craig were a factor in his split from Kate.

Prince William was also linked to Isabella Calthorpe, who he met at a dinner party that was hosted by Princess Eugenie in 2001. Calthorpe happens to be the half-sister of Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas.

According to sources, Prince William tried to pursue Calthorpe after his first split from Kate in 2005. The future king’s decision to try and date Calthorpe reportedly made his friends happy because they didn’t like the Duchess of Cambridge. They thought that the mom of three was cold, boring and common.

Prince William and Tess Shepherd also made headlines in April 2007 after the former split from Kate. At that time, the two were photographed in a drunken embrace at the London club Boujis.
