Super Bowl LIX is set to take place on February 9 at the iconic Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, LA. But while Chiefs and Eagles fans could not be more excited, not everything is smooth sailing for organizers, as NFL ticket prices have dropped dramatically.

According to TickPick, the cheapest ticket is now under $4,000, marking a 30% decline in just one week and a staggering 50% drop compared to last year's event.

Why are ticket prices falling?

Despite the high-profile showdown, along with a star-studded halftime show, demand has not been strong enough to fill the stadium.

At the start of 2025, the lowest ticket price was around $5,600. As of today, the cheapest ticket sits at $3,600.

TickPick CEO Brett Goldberg attributes this sharp decline to several factors, including New Orleans' lower tourist appeal compared to Las Vegas, which hosted last year's Super Bowl.

Another possible reason is fan fatigue, as some NFL followers seem less willing to spend large sums to watch the Chiefs in the Super Bowl for the third consecutive year. Goldberg believes ticket prices would have been much higher had teams like the Detroit Lions or Buffalo Bills had made it to the final.

Donald Trump's historic attendance

In a rare move, a White House official confirmed to CNN that President Donald Trump will attend the Super Bowl, making him the first sitting U.S. president to be present at the event.

The official stated that the guest list is still being finalized, but Trump's presence is expected to heighten security measures. The already stringent security has been further reinforced following a terrorist attack in New Orleans that left 14 dead on New Year's Day, which could also be a factor in slow ticket sales.

"DHS has protected the NFL Super Bowl for over 20+ years. We're working around the clock to ensure a safe and secure game day at the Superdome and in the city of New Orleans," said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem in a statement.

High expectations for the event

Despite falling ticket prices, excitement remains high. Grammy-winning artist Kendrick Lamar will headline the halftime show accompanied by frequent musical collaborator SZA, promising a spectacular performance.

Beyond the game itself, many fans are eager to attend for the star-studded atmosphere, with celebrities like Taylor Swift expected to be in attendance, adding to the festive energy that makes the Super Bowl an unmissable event.
