Camilla Parker Bowles gave Kate Middleton a personalized gold bracelet several years ago. Now the touching reason behind the precious gift has been revealed.
It was reported that Camilla gave Kate the gold link wrist candy as a wedding gift in April 2011. However, it was only in June 2011 that Kate wore the jewelry in public.
The bracelet features two engraved letter C, which symbolizes the first letter of both of the royals’ names. Kate’s real name is Catherine, and her engraving was designed with a coronet. Camilla’s “C” was designed with a crown.
Kate has worn the bracelet in public a number of times, which includes her first appearance at the Wimbledon in 2011. However, the gift she received from Camilla is not the only jewelry that Kate loves to wear.
Following her engagement to Prince William, Kate was photographed in her iconic wedding ring, which was previously owned by Princess Diana. Prince William decided to give the engagement ring from his late mom’s jewelry collection when he became certain that it is Kate who he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s former royal butler, said that Prince William and Prince Harry both have access to their mom’s collection. However, Prince Harry gave way for Prince William to give the sapphire engagement ring to Kate during one of his selfless moments.
According to Burrell, Prince Harry was the one who initially chose the sapphire ring from his mom’s collection, and Prince William decided to take Princess Diana’s Cartier watch. Years later, Prince Harry realized that it would be better to give his mom’s ring to someone who would one day become queen. During his conversation with Prince William, Prince Harry told his older brother that it would be fitting if Kate has their mom’s ring.
“Harry gave up his precious treasure,” Burrell told Express. “His one thing he kept from his mother, he gave to his brother. That’s selfless, kind, and exactly who Diana was,” Burrell added. And when Prince Harry got engaged to Meghan Markle, he also incorporated Princess Diana’s jewelry into his wife’s ring.
