White House Denies Investigation Which Claimed Russia Is Interfering In Trump's Campaign

An investigation reported that the Trump administration had pushed the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to delete part of a report which claimed Russia aimed to help President Donald Trump win the 2020 vote.

According to a report by the New York Times (NYT) magazine, the administration pressured the ODNI to take out a part of a classified report dubbed as the "National Intelligence Estimate" which said Russia had been trying to help Trump win the 2020 election. The report had been compiled in 2019 and had focused its investigations on national security affairs by raising "key judgments."

Robert Draper, who is an NYT reporter, gathered inputs from unsung national security sources who detailed that the second key judgment of the classified report also deduced that Russia is involved in the 2020 election to help Trump.

Reportedly, Trump repeatedly denied the said notwithstanding several reports from U.S. intelligence agencies such as the FBI, CIA, NSA, Justice Department, and Senate Intelligence Committee - all of who have given credence to the truthfulness of the said report.

Similarly, Russian President Vladimir Putin contested interfering in both the 2020 and 2016 elections but admitted to claims that he wanted Trump to win in the upcoming November election.

Dan Coats who is the previous director of National Intelligence told the NYT reporter that the Trump administration had asked to remove the said part as ODNI was just about to wrap up last year's report. But, he had purportedly refused to make modifications to the investigation.

Not long after, Coats learned that he had been forced into early retirement when the President took to Twitter and announced that Coats' would conclude his service at the ODNI on August 15, 2019 - a day which is still months before he had originally planned to retire.

By the time Coats had left the ODNI, the National Intelligence Estimate was published but appeared to be changed to say that Russian leaders assessed that opportunities to improve relations with the U.S. will decrease if the country moves on with a new president.

The NYT reporter detailed that the changes appeared to have been made by an ODNI official appointed in May 2019 named Beth Sanner who is currently serving as the Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Mission Integration.

Draper said that these details would document only a small part of a growing conflict between the President and intelligencies agencies in the U.S.
