The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have welcomed to the world a baby boy. The couple's first child will one day be King, but what will the royals call this new bundle of joy? Naming a future king can be a serious task. There are certain names that exude power and respect, while others evoke harsh memories of the past.

Latin Times put together a list of four things to know about royal baby names.

1. Most royals have more than one first name. These names are usually in memory of a famous monarch or relative. For example, Queen Elizabeth's full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary. She is named for her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

2. Royals do not have last names. Their titles work sufficiently enough to let someone know who they are seeing, hearing or speaking with. The newborn prince will be known as His Royal Highness Prince (his first name) of Cambridge.

3. Not wanting to bring up memories of England's notorious past, they have had some rotten rulers in their day. There are certain names by which a future monarch will never be known. Harold, Stephen and John were just a few of the infamous men to call themselves King. Richard is a name that can go either way. Richard I, known as Richard the Lion Heart was a famous warrior king who fought during the crusades. Richard III is England's most infamous king, famous for the alleged murders of his two young nephews, "The Princes in the Tower."

4. Odds are favoring the name George for the little Prince. Queen Elizabeth's father was known throughout the world as King George VI. The late king opted not to use his first name, Albert because it was too German sounding. King George VI ascended to the throne just before WWII broke out. The odds also favored the name Alexandra if the child was a girl, but common sense might suggest if the royals ever do have a girl she'll likely be named after the Queen or William's mother, Princess Diana.
