The divorce of Daddy Yankee and Mireddys González has been a turbulent one. The drama has extended to their children, particularly their youngest son, Jeremy Ayala, who has often been seen as a source of friction between his parents.
In recent years, the relationship between the reggaeton icon and Jeremy was reportedly strained, with rumors even suggesting that Jeremy had been disinherited. However, before the divorce drama unfolded, the two had reconciled, leaving their differences behind.
Jeremy, much like his father, has developed a passion for music. While Daddy Yankee dominated the stage, the 26-year-old has made a name for himself as a music producer, collaborating with major stars.
Jeremy Ayala's journey
Born on May 26, 1998, Jeremy has already built an impressive resume, working with renowned artists in the urban music genre both in Puerto Rico and internationally.
His collaborators include Spanish stars Saiko and Bad Gyal, as well as Latin artists such as Myke Towers, Mora, Feid, Duki, Bryant Myers, Paopao, and Dei V.
Jeremy is married to influencer and publicist Andrea de Castro, who has also worked with big names in music, including Puerto Rican artist Young Miko. Caleb Calloway, a close collaborator of Jeremy, has played a significant role in his career.
Despite his professional success, Jeremy's relationship with his parents has been challenging, marked by periods of estrangement.
Reports suggest that Mireddys disapproved of Jeremy's relationship with Andrea, leading to a family rift that lasted until October last year.
During this time Daddy Yankee was notably absent from public appearances with Jeremy. However, fans were surprised when the artist shared a heartfelt Instagram post alongside his son, signaling their reconciliation.
"The Holy Spirit has the power to restore families, broken friendships, and, most importantly, oneself. He picks up every broken piece and rebuilds everything anew. You just need to surrender to Him, and you'll see great changes in your life," he wrote.
Disinherited?
Amid the divorce drama, allegations resurfaced about Jeremy being disinherited. A leaked document, reportedly Daddy Yankee's will from 2023, suggested that while all three of his children were initially listed as beneficiaries, Jeremy was later excluded due to a "pattern of mistreatment."
However, the timing of the document aligned with the period when father and son were estranged, leading to speculation that the will might have since been updated to include Jeremy again.
Daddy Yankee's recent statements further supported this theory. Following a divorce hearing, the 'Gasolina' singer addressed the media, expressing his love for his children.
"Yamilet, Jeremy, Jesaaelys—they are everything to me. They know I love them deeply. I have a great relationship with all three, and I'm confident this situation will bring us closer, step by step. We're a family like any other, with ups and downs, but we'll overcome it."
Tensions within the family were evident during the divorce proceedings. Mireddys attended court accompanied by Jesaaelys, who openly supported her mother and did not acknowledge her father.
Jeremy, though absent at his father's request, reportedly intended to attend. Despite the ongoing family struggles, Jeremy's career in music continues to thrive, even as his family remains under public scrutiny amid his parents' tumultuous separation.
