Retired and former UFC champion Daniel Cormier has retired from active duty in the cage and is now content doing commentary. Though anything can still happen moving forward, it appears D.C. prefers to address other things. This includes possibly making a move to the WWE scene.

Cormier has been doing a fine job commentating in the UFC to date. He retired after losing to Stipe Miocic at UFC 252, seemingly fine helping the promotion behind the scenes. Could he have the same success in the WWE?

The former UFC champion is reportedly in talks with the WWE once more about a possible collaboration, Sports Illustrated reported. The last time the two sides talked, scheduling was a problem. D.C. was still active at that time but has more time to spare now. He feels that he can bring the same flare in the WWE if he gets the chance.

“Let me call the matches for six months and tell you how great these wrestlers are in the ring. I would love that, and I wouldn’t be faking it. WWE is something I’ve loved my entire life,” Cormier said.

But in the WWE, commentators sometimes get the chance to perform in the ring. Cormier, who admits he is a big wrestling fan, could end up wrestling and follow the footsteps of former mixed martial arts stars like Ronda Rousey and Ken Shamrock.

However, succeeding in that endeavor will take a lot of hard work. Aware of that possibility, “The Miz” has given fair warning to Cormier that he will need to work hard and follow the success of Rousey in the WWE, TMZ reported.

"Not many people are able to do it. Not many people can be as successful as Ronda Rousey was, which she came in and really did a tremendous job just acclimating to our style of professional wrestling," The Miz said. "Honestly, it's one of the hardest jobs I've ever seen in entertainment because it's life, it's in your face, it's athleticism, it's entertainment."

Roman Reigns is someone that Cormier would not mind having a storyline with. But unless Cormier is already training to be a wrestler, that may take time to develop. Working as a WWE commentator will suffice for now but seeing D.C. wrestle will remain only a possibility for now.
