Twerk it girl! Or should we say, girls? It turns out, Cara Delevingne had a special surprise in store for us. Last night, just a few hours before the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, the British model uploaded a video to her Instagram account. So, what's so special about an Instagram video, you ask? Well, in this one in particular, fellow Victoria's Secret angels Doutzen Kroes and Joan Smalls were caught twerking in their pink satin robes along to Major Lazer's song "Bubble Butt," sung by none other than Cara.
"I was saving this a** video until last!" the 21-year-old model captioned the clip. "Take it away @doutzen @joansmalls @victoriassecret check out the #VSfashionshow playing tonight! X." Twerking has become so popular that was even added to the Oxford English Dictionary in this year's revision. Spokeswoman Katherine Connor Martin said the word "twerk" has been around for 20 years but has generated enough evidence of usage to be added to its online dictionaries with Miley Cyrus hitting headlines for "twerking" at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Arising in the early 1990s, the word is described in the dictionary as "a dance to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance." And although it has caused a lot of controversy since it became "mainstream," we don't think people will be complaining after watching the Victoria's Secret models twerk it away.
