Perhaps the best thing about sports is that they provide millions of people with enjoyable moments on a regular basis. Whether you're a fan of football, baseball, soccer, basketball, golf or any other event, sports have the ability to help folks step away from certain issues they may be dealing with on a personal level. The activities on the high school and college level also hold a special place in the hearts and minds of many people since they enjoy watching their loved ones on the competitive platform, providing another escape route from potentially annoying and damaging situations taking place in their lives.
Thanks to the superb play of a talented running back, high school football in the state of Washington has become a major focus around the internet. Tony Picard, a 400-pound back and nose tackle for White Swan High School in Yakama, Washington has become a viral hit for his ability to dominate at the point of attack. The senior - who stands at 6'4" and weighs in at 400 pounds - may not be the fastest running back at the high school level but his unbelievable strength and running back instincts make him a nightmare to defend. Once he's able to get leverage at the line of scrimmage, the defense it basically rendered defeated because of Picard's sheer size. His head coach is one of the many people who enjoy watching him before, during and after each game.
"It's so much fun to have him go out on the field as a captain and see him shaking hands before the game," White Swan head coach Andrew Bush said recently. "They're just kind of staring, like 'Oh my gosh, you've got to be kidding me! Most teams will sacrifice five guys to stop him, four linemen and a middle linebacker. That leaves three guys on each side to stop the rest of our team. Everything else opens up, our outside running, our play action, and our entire passing game. We average about 450 yards as a team offensively."
Helping to lead White Swan to the playoffs after finishing the season with a 9-1 record, the senior two-way player accumulated over 700 rushing yards while finding the end zone 15 times.
