Samsung’s latest advertisement for its Galaxy Pro series not only highlights the company’s new devices but also points out the shortcomings of Apple’s iPhone, Microsoft Surface and Kindle. The ad uses three different scenarios to compare the Samsung Galaxy Pro tablet’s features to that of the competition. Samsung predictably starts with a jab at Apple focusing on a business conference call, during which the Galaxy owner is able to multitask and talk while simultaneously sending a report.
While Samsung does take a shot at Apple’s iPad shortcomings it admittedly gives a decent amount of credit to the device by including it as a participant in a cross-platform business video conference. The company then questions in another scenario if Microsoft’s Surface can even be called a tablet.
Samsung also takes a jab at Amazon’s book reader the Kindle by showing that the Galaxy can pull up YouTube videos during a book club meeting. Lastly, Samsung ends the ad the way they started by taking shots at Apple. The company compares the resolution of a Galaxy tablet to Apple’s “retina thingy.” Check out the
TechCrunch points out that Samsung has loaded the ad up with disclaimers in small print at the bottom of the video its multi-window multitasking software doesn’t work with all apps. Which definitely leaves Samsung open for a counterattack ad by any one of these companies.
