
Tonight is the season premiere of the all-new primetime series starring the Muppets. In the new show we will see our favorite Muppets such as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear in a more mature, adult roles.
A show-within-a-show, the series is set in Los Angeles and depicts the everyday personal and professional lives of the Muppets during production of "Up Late with Miss Piggy," which is a fictional late-night talk show, starring Miss Piggy, according to .
According to The Futon Critic, the description for the pilot episode titled "Pig Girls Don't Cry" reads: "Miss Piggy is livid when Kermit books Elizabeth Banks on her late-night talk show; and Fozzie meets his girlfriend's parents. Also: a performance by Imagine Dragons."
Aside from Banks other guest stars include: Tracy Anderson as herself, Tom Bergeron as himself, Meagan Fay as Holly, Jere Burns as Carl, Riki Lindhome as Becky, Nilla Watkins as Kim and Layla Alizada as Betty.
We kind of got a look at the premiere episode in a 10-minute first look screening at San Diego Comic-Con 2015. The clip shows The Muppets learning ABC is interested in filming a documentary series about them, but Miss Piggy is not on board, forcing Kermit to break the bad news that the show will not air. Meanwhile, Fozzie has to meet his girlfriend Becky's parents who do not approve of her dating a bear. You can check it out below.
"The Muppets" will premiere Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC and will be available the next day on VOD, abc.go.com, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and Xbox. ABC does offer a live stream service via its webiste but you must be a subscriber to the network through your cable provider and you must sign in.
