This Friday Nickelodeon will stream an all-new episode of "The Legend of Korra" on its website. The second episode titled "Korra Alone" is one fans are eagerly waiting to watch! We already got a glimpse of Korra fighting in an underground Earth Bending fight club! And we also know that she has lied to everyone saying that she was in Republic City for six months when she clearly is not. But what else has the Avatar been up to?
According to co-creator Mike DiMartino in an interview with IGN he says "The second episode deals primarily with the story of what happened to her [Korra] after we last saw her at the end of book 3." While Bryan Konietzko refers to "Korra Alone" as one of his strongest artistic accomplishments in the series.
Nick also revealed a sneak peek clip from the second episode which shows team Avatar saying goodbye to Korra as she heads home to the Southern Water Tribe to recover from her battle with Zaheer. The scene then jumps to Korra in her room seemingly having a nightmare about Zaheer which startles her awake in the dead of night. Check out the clip below!
The title of the second episode "Korra Alone" may give you some nostalgia for "Avatar: The Last Airbender" as season two of that particular series had an episode titled "Zuko Alone." In "Zuko Alone" we seen the banished Fire Prince deciding to venture out on his own when he ends up in a Earth Kingdom village and befriends a young boy named Lee. He protects the family from outlaws and ends up revealing himself as a firebender and is turned away from Lee and his family. It is one of the most powerful episodes of "ATLA" series.
The similarities of the episode are obvious as we know Korra is dealing with internal conflicts of feeling useful in a world that may not need an Avatar just as Zuko is dealing with those internal conflicts as he tries to find his true self. Also both characters end up in small Earth Kingdom villages. The differences are what we are looking forward to.
"The Legend of Korra" episode two "Korra Alone" will begin streaming on Nick.com Friday, Oct. 10. You can also catch the episode on Hulu Plus, however you must note that the series is a bit behind on that particular streaming service. You can also purchase the episode via iTunes, Xbox Video, Google Play and Amazon Instant Video.
