In the last episode of ‘Family Guy,’ the loveable yet accident-prone Peter Griffin found himself in significant trouble once again at work. After a co-worker retired, Peter was promoted by his boss to the role of forklift operator, a dangerous title to give a highly inept and irresponsible person. After a series of public shenanigans with his buddies that included hanging neighbor Joe Swanson at the end of the lift for a ride around town and attempting to save a whale that washed ashore, Griffin returned the forklift to work. Following an extensive period of drinking with his co-workers however, the father of three crashed the lift into a business meeting and was subsequently fired from his job.
The loss of his job in ‘Peter Problems’ eventually forced his wife Lois to return to work after Peter failed to find a new gig. Realizing that other job opportunities were not immediately available, Peter becomes a stay-at-home dad while Lois moves into the role of family breadwinner. Failing to provide for his loved ones on a regular basis eventually takes its toll on Griffin, who grows somewhat depressed, which leads to poor performance in the bedroom with his wife. Once his friends and family convince him to ask for his old job back however, Griffin is once again rejuvenated and is able to get close with Lois after a brief lull.
This weekend’s episode, entitled ‘Grimm Job,’ sees the Griffin family re-telling some of the most popular fairy tales ever written. Of course the Griffins have put their own spins on famed literary works and movies such as ‘Star Wars’ and ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ but their versions of Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood could prove to be the best storytelling episode in the long history of Seth MacFarlane’s ‘Family Guy.’ Airing Sunday, January 12 at 9pm, ET, ‘Grimm Job’ is certainly an episode loyalists of the animated sitcom won’t want to miss.
Though ‘Grimm Job’ will air at 9/8 c. on FOX Sunday night, on-line broadcasts of the episode will not be available for viewing at that time. Fans can watch Episode 10 of Season 12 at FOX.com the next day with Hulu Plus offering the same services. iTunes and Amazon Instant Video will also carry the show but fans must be prepared to pay a fee to watch the latest episode.
