Mexican singer and actress Dulce and movie diva Silvia Pinal died almost a month apart. Both artists were united in life by the admiration they had for each other and, after their deaths, their families chose the same funeral home to watch over their remains.
Their affection for each other was so great that upon hearing the news of Pinal's death, Dulce published a photo with her along with a sweet message.
"Today Mexico loses a star that illuminated our lives with her talent and greatness. Dear Silvia Pinal, you were an example of passion, elegance and strength.
Your legacy will remain forever in our hearts and in the history of Mexican art. It was an honor to share moments with you and admire you as the extraordinary woman you always were.
Rest in peace, eternal diva. You leave us, but your light will never go out. 🌹
With all my love,
Dulce."
Shockingly, it was also Dulce's last Instagram post. Since then her team had used her social networks to give information about her health condition.
Where are Dulce's remains?
Upon formally announcing her passing, the family of Bertha Elisa "Dulce" Noeggerath Cárdenas announced that funeral plans would be private. The initial news of her death were given by her sister Isabel Noeggerath on her Facebook account. "Sister, Sister, you are already with our mom in heaven singing to her. I will miss you. Rest in peace. I love you," she wrote.
"In this moment of great pain and loss, we respectfully ask all the media and public opinion to give us space and understanding so that her family can grieve in privately in peace," the official statement said.
However, it was reported in the Mexican press that Dulce's remains are being held at the J. García López funeral home in El Pedregal, in southern Mexico City.
This is the same funeral home where Silvia Pinal's family chose to say goodbye to her in private before the grand tribute at the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
According to Televisa Espectáculos, her remains will be cremated and taken to a cemetery in the city of her birth, Matamoros, in the state of Tamaulipas, where her mother is buried.
A fame that transcends borders
Considered one of the best female voices Mexico has ever produced, Dulce's popularity extended to both sides of the U.S. border. Since her rise to fame in the mid-1970s, she has continued to enchant fans with some of the most romantic songs in Latin music.
Dulce also starred in several telenovelas and starred in the second season of Netflix's reality show 'Siempre Reinas.'
Radio station W1420 also reported that the mayor of the U.S. city of Brownsville, bordering Matamoros, authorized fans to leave flowers or candles on Dulce's star on the city's Walk of Fame.
