A video titled "How can you blame Cristiano Ronaldo" about the Portuguese international player is currently viral on social media after Manchester United's 3-1 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday.
A short video proving Ronaldo's teammates are more responsible for Man Utd's weak league position is currently gaining much attention on Twitter. Ronaldo can be seen occupying space to draw their defenders away from his teammates while also giving Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho several opportunities among others.
The supporters of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner believed that Ronaldo is not at fault, with one commenting, "Ronaldo has NEVER been the problem in this team." While another said, "I'm sorry Ronaldo for blaming you. Accept my apologies." Many have previously said Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford has brought United more problems, however, the video seemed to change several fans' perspectives about the 37-year-old icon.
The legendary striker made a comeback to Man Utd's starting line-up on Saturday after being absent from the last week's 4-0 loss against Liverpool following the heartbreaking death of his newborn son.
Ronaldo made another historic moment marking his 100th Premier League goal. Ronaldo has managed to score 22 goals in all 35 games this season.
Robbie Savage commented, "You've got to keep him, 22 goals this season," he explained on BT Sport as reported by Sportskeeda. "Listen, he was brought in to make Manchester United try and win things. He's stuck to his end of the bargain, he's got 22 goals in a team that's sixth in the Premier League."
"His goals have got them 13 points, his goals got them into the knockout stages of the Champions League. People say he's part of the problem?"
Meanwhile, Man Utd officially appointed the Erik ten Hag as the team's head coach. It is still uncertain whether Ronaldo will stay and extend his contract with the club this summer, especially now that the team have likely no chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League. Man Utd's next game will be against Chelsea on Thursday.
