Vicente Fernández has been announcing his retirement since 2012. During a press conference on February 9 that year, Chente stated: “This is the last time I go to Venezuela, Colombia, Caracas, the U.S, Mexico and I want you to know I’m leaving.” While announcing his international tour in 2012, the singer announced it was important for a singer to retire from the music business with dignity.

Well, to everyone’s surprise that was not the last time the world so Chente. In 2013, Sony Music announced the release of “Vicente Fernández Hoy” which included a round of concerts in Los Angeles, California. When Don Vicente was questioned about his retirement announcement the year before, he said: “It’s not because I want to make more money but because I want people to remember me how they first met me, with the shame I’ve always had, and the love I’ve always given and I have received from them too.”

In 2014, Don Francisco interviewed the Mexican legend next to his wife Cuquita and asked the famous question: “Why did Vicente Fernández retire if he is still a great singer?” Chente responded he didn’t want the audience to feel sorry for him, which is why he retired while he was still making it big.

Last week, “El Rey” pulled out of retirement to surprise his fans with a new single called "No Vuelvas Por Favor." A song the iconic Mexican revealed to have made with lots of love and straight from the heart. But this was not the only surprise the 75-year-old artist had up his sleeves, he announced via Facebook yet another final concert date: “The farewell I said was going to be at the Zócalo has been postponed until February (2016) because it’s going to be raining at the time and I don’t want to expose any of you to pneumonia or any other disease but it will be at Jalisco stadium (but he meant Estadio Azteca), so y’all can be more comfortable, and don’t have to stand up the whole time, and with a beautiful stage, and I can say goodbye like God intended to, with the love that you have always given me and I hope you can all join me on the last day of my career.”
