A U.S. Airman faces multiple charges— unlawful sex act and electronic solicitation— for allegedly raping an 11-year-old child after traveling across state lines to meet her. Investigators alleged in a Facebook post by the Decatur Police Department that Airman First Class Keith Williams, 25, who was stationed at Hurlburt Field in Okaloosa County, Florida, reportedly met the girl online in October last year and lured her into meeting him in person.
The Facebook post (in parts) read: FELONY RAPE ARREST: On February 12, 2021, the Decatur Police Department received a report that an adult male had been communicating online with a child in Decatur and had made arrangements to meet the child in person. Throughout the course of the investigation, detectives discovered that during the month of October 2020, 25-year-old Airman First Class Keith Norris Williams, stationed at Hurlburt Field in Florida, traveled to Decatur and engaged in an unlawful sex act with the child.”
As per the information on a filed affidavit obtained by the Northwest Florida Daily, as cited on PEOPLE, the father of the victim sensed something to be off when he chanced upon a friend request from Williams. The girl's father reportedly posed as the 11-year-old girl and asked, “Do I know you?”
The victim had reportedly revealed to detectives from Decatur Police Department that Williams met her in the backyard of her family’s home, and they had sexual intercourse. This prompted an investigation into predatory crime.
The report further suggested that Williams detailed what the minor girl was wearing when they allegedly met at the girl’s backyard and carried on an unlawful sex act. “From there, Williams made some salacious remarks about the victim referencing the rape, and wrote, "Ima (I'm going to) definitely marry you in the future lol (laughing out loud)'".
On April 30, Williams was nabbed by cops in Florida and extradited back to Decatur two weeks later. On May 16, Williams was released on a $60,000 bond.
According to the outlet, Williams has been put under the control of the Air Force and faces a strict ban from leaving Alabama. While Williams is yet to enter a plea, it is unclear as to whether he has an attorney to represent him in the case.
