GM is determined to keep details on their 2014 Chevrolet Corvette close to the chest but when you're up against the many obsessive personalities on the internet, it's going to be a losing battle.
Omega Tool Corp. is one of GM's Tier 1 suppliers, responsible for the many composite and plastic panels for production vehicles. Demonstrating their skills, Omega Tool Corp. Sharing a video that demonstrated the complexities of plastic mold forming, the company shared a demonstration of the nose of the still-secret 2014 Corvette rather than the outgoing C6 Corvette Model.
Simply labeled Omega Tool Corp. Corvette, the video was published on vimeo.com and was then shared across CorvetteOnline.com under the thread subject "How Corvette C6 Bumpers Are Made." Sharp Corvette enthusiasts quickly recognized that the video was in fact a peek into the future.
Omega Tool Corp. has since taken down the video but the damage is already done. Following the trail, Jalopnik contacted a spokesperson from GM. However, the authority refused to give anything away and neither confirmed nor denied the image as a C7 Corvette.
The spokesperson said, "As we're building the prototype cars for the next generation Corvette we are working with suppliers... to begin the process of tooling for the early prototype cars before they go into production."
Prototype or not, the nose is instantly recognizable and is looking to be an evolutionary design rather than revolutionary. Check out the video and images below to study the bumper for yourselves:
