Tulsi Gabbard is the latest government official to order mass layoffs, announcing the termination of more than 100 officers from 15 agencies due to their involvement in "brazen" misconduct on a National Security Agency (NSA) chat tool.

The Director of National Intelligence revealed the decision during an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters on Feb. 25, explaining that the employees had engaged in sexually explicit conversations on a platform designed for sensitive national security discussions.

"They were brazen in using an NSA platform intended for professional use to conduct this kind of really, really horrific behavior," Gabbard stated.

The inappropriate discussions allegedly included explicit content and references to individuals' personal kinks. As a result, those involved not only lost their jobs but also had their security clearances revoked.

The NSA addressed the situation on X, releasing a statement regarding the misconduct.

"NSA is aware of posts that appear to show inappropriate discussions by IC personnel. IC collaboration platforms are intended to drive mission outcomes. Potential misuse of these platforms by a small group of individuals does not represent the community. Investigations to address this misuse of government systems are ongoing," the agency stated.

Gabbard's chief of staff also took to X to confirm that intelligence agencies had been instructed to identify and terminate all employees involved by February 28.

"The DNI sent a memo directing all intelligence agencies to identify the employees who participated in the NSA's 'obscene, pornographic, and sexually explicit' chatrooms and to terminate their employment and revoke their security clearances. Deadline: Friday," she wrote.

Additionally, Gabbard revealed during her interview that these firings align with President Donald Trump's administration's broader initiative to purge government bodies of individuals acting against national interests.

Trump had deviously shared in his first Cabinet meeting that he intended to downsize the federal workforce.

"We're cutting down the size of government. We have to. We're bloated. We're sloppy. We have a lot of people that aren't doing their job," he said, according to the Associated Press.

The news comes after the Trump administration has sent out a memo that announced the downsizing of the federal workforce.
