Former President Donald Trump, while mourning the loss of supporter Ashli Babbitt on Tuesday, continued to falsely claim that the “martyr” was the only casualty of the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection and that the FBI was behind the tumultuous upheaval.

In an interview with Newsmax anchor Rob Schmitt, he stood firm and repeatedly insisted that no one else died on Jan. 6 apart from Babbitt, whom he called a "fine woman," the Daily Beast reported.

“They like to say five people, but nobody died on Jan. 6,” Trump wrongly said.

In response, Schmitt corrected him, saying, “Nobody was intentionally killed beside her.” However, Trump would ignore his remarks and insist the MAGA apologist was the only person who died when according to facts, the day claimed the lives of at least four people.

Accordingly, four cops who responded at the Capitol died in the following days and weeks by suicide. At least another officer had multiple strokes and succumbed to his illness hours after confronting a violent crowd at the Capitol who were armed with bear spray.

In a rally on Saturday, CNN noted Trump was belly-aching about his supporters being treated poorly after being slapped with charges concerning the Jan. 6 attack, vowing, "If I run and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6 fairly."

Earlier this month, he smeared Lieutenant Michael Byrd, a 28-year-veteran of the force who shot and killed Babbitt as rioters tried to breach the House chamber during the Capitol siege, calling him a “disgrace.”

“[Babbitt] was killed by a ruthless man that never should have used his gun to shoot her,” he said. “I saw his interview, and he thinks it was great that he shot her and killed her, and she didn’t have a gun. She didn’t have anything. There was no reason to do that.”

The Capitol Police has since exonerated Byrd, ruling that his decision to fire at Babbitt was a “last resort” that “saved countless lives” following an internal probe, according to Business Insider.

He had made similar comments about Babbitt when he paid tribute to the “truly incredible” Capitol rioter per a video message played at a Texas Loves Ashli Babbitt event in October.

“We must all demand justice for Ashli and her family,” Trump said at the time. “On this solemn occasion, as we celebrate her life, we renew our call for a fair and nonpartisan investigation” into her death.
